Creating Your Player Profile

Creating Your Player Profile

Your player profile is your competitive identity on HubMatch. It tells teams who you are, what position you play, and how to find you. A complete profile dramatically increases your chances of getting noticed by recruiters and receiving tryout invitations.

Setting Up the Basics

When you first register, you need to set two things: your nickname (3-50 characters, this is your display name) and your primary position. Everything else is optional but recommended. Your region is automatically detected from your IP address and cannot be changed manually - this keeps matchmaking fair across geographic zones.

Choosing Your Position

Position is the single most important field on your profile. It determines which team openings you match with and how recruiters find you. HubMatch uses six positions:

GK (Goalkeeper) - The last line of defense. You save shots, organize the backline, and distribute the ball. Goalkeepers are the scarcest players on the platform, which means teams are always looking for them. If you play GK, you will have your pick of teams.

ST (Striker) - The primary goal scorer. Your job is to finish chances, make runs into space, and pressure the opposing defense. The most popular position among players, so expect competition for roster spots.

Support ST (Supporting Striker) - The creative playmaker who links midfield to attack. You create assists, support the main striker, and act as a secondary scoring option. Less glamorous than ST but highly valued by teams that understand the game.

Box-to-Box (Midfielder) - The engine of the team. You control possession, transition play from defense to attack, and cover both ends of the pitch. This is the hardest position to fill well - good Box-to-Box players are in very high demand.

Last Man (Defender) - The defensive anchor. You block attacks, clear danger, and protect the goalkeeper. An underappreciated role, but essential. Dedicated defenders who do it well are treasured by their teams.

All-Rounder - A flexible player who can fill any position as needed. This is best suited for experienced players who have played multiple roles and are comfortable adapting to whatever the team requires.

You can also set a secondary position to show versatility. Common combinations include ST + Support ST for forwards, or Box-to-Box + Last Man for defensive-minded players.

Platform and Region

Platform is optional and purely informational - Rematch supports full cross-play between Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, and PlayStation, so your platform does not restrict who you can play with.

Region determines which queues you can join for solo play (10-Mans and Pickup Queue). The five regions are North America (NA), South America (SA), Europe (EU), Middle East (ME), and Asia-Pacific (APAC).

Tips for Standing Out

Link your Discord handle so captains can reach you easily. Upload an avatar to make your profile memorable. If you genuinely can play multiple positions, list a secondary - teams love flexibility. And once you start playing, your ELO rating, match history, and reputation score will speak for themselves.
