Lobby Codes

Lobby Codes

HubMatch organizes your matches, but the actual games are played inside Rematch. Since there is no direct API connection between the two platforms, a simple 6-digit lobby code bridges the gap.

How It Works

Every competitive series on HubMatch has a designated host player - typically the Team A captain. Once the series is scheduled, the host opens Rematch and creates a custom lobby. Rematch generates an alphanumeric lobby code for that private match.

The host then enters that code into HubMatch through the match lobby page. Once submitted, every player in the series can see the code on the series page and use it to join the Rematch lobby.

One Code Per Series

The lobby code is set once for the entire series. In a BO3 or BO5, players stay in the same Rematch lobby for all games - there is no need to create a new lobby or share a new code between games.

Why Manual Entry

Rematch does not currently offer a public API for matchmaking or lobby management. The lobby code system works entirely without game integration - the host copies a code from Rematch and pastes it into HubMatch. It is simple, reliable, and familiar to anyone who has used custom lobbies before.

Good to Know

  • Only the designated host can submit the lobby code on HubMatch.
  • The host can update the code if needed while the series is scheduled or live. If the lobby needs to be remade, players coordinate through Discord or chat.
  • The code is visible to all players in the series, not just captains.
  • For 10-Mans, lobby codes are optional since matchmaking is handled through Discord voice channels.
