Pickup Queue
Pickup Queue - Casual 5-Player Gathering
The Pickup Queue is HubMatch's casual mode. It gathers 5 players by position and region, then drops them into a Rematch ranked lobby together. There is no ELO tracking, no result reporting, and no match records created on the platform. It exists purely as a social and convenience feature.
How It Differs from 10-Mans
The distinction matters. 10-Mans is a full competitive system: 10 players, ELO-balanced teams, result verification, and rating changes. The Pickup Queue is none of that. It matches 5 players (one team's worth), points them toward a ranked Rematch lobby, and steps aside. No stats are recorded on HubMatch. Think of it as a party finder rather than a competitive queue.
How It Works
You select your preferred position from the standard list (GK, ST, Support ST, Box-to-Box, Last Man, or All-Rounder) and join the queue. Your region is auto-detected from your profile - there is no manual selection. The system finds 4 other players from the same region and the match is ready.
One player is designated as the host. The host creates a ranked lobby in Rematch (note: this is a standard Rematch ranked match, not a custom lobby like scrims or tournaments use). Other players join through one of two methods: clicking the host's Steam profile link to join directly, or adding the host via their crossplay code and joining from the friends list. You must set a crossplay code in your profile before you can join the pickup queue.
Discord Voice Channel
The Discord bot creates a temporary voice channel for the 5 matched players and sends everyone an invite link. This makes coordination easy - you can call out plays, discuss strategy, or just chat while you warm up.
What You Need
You need to be logged in, have a region set on your profile, and have a crossplay code set in your profile - you cannot join the pickup queue without one. Where Discord is enabled, joining also requires a linked Discord account in the HubMatch server. No team membership is required, no ELO threshold, no skill requirements. It is otherwise open to everyone.
When to Use It
The Pickup Queue is ideal for warming up before a competitive session, playing casually when you do not feel like tryharding, or when you simply want to find others to play with quickly. It fills the gap between solo ranked Rematch and the structured competition that 10-Mans, scrims, and tournaments provide.
