Notifications and Alert Settings
Notifications and Alert Settings
HubMatch keeps you in the loop through an in-app notification center and, optionally, through the Discord bot (see the Discord Bot help article). Notifications cover the things you actually care about as a competitive player: upcoming matches, invites, results waiting for your confirmation, tournament updates, and team activity. This guide covers what you will see and when you will see it.
The In-App Notification Center
A bell icon in the top-right of the site shows a numeric badge when you have unread notifications. Click it to open the notification panel - a scrollable list of recent events, grouped by date, with unread items highlighted. Each notification links directly to the relevant match, team, or tournament page so you can act without hunting through the site.
Notifications stay in your panel until you clear them. You can mark individual items read, mark all as read, or clear everything.
What Triggers a Notification
The main categories are:
- Scheduling-deadline reminders - fired before a scheduling deadline (72 hours and 48 hours before the deadline) so you do not miss the window to schedule a series.
- Team invites and tryout invites - a captain has invited you to join or try out.
- Result confirmations - the opposing team submitted a result, and it is waiting for your team's confirmation. See the result verification system.
- Tournament updates - registration confirmed, check-in opens, bracket advances, your next opponent is known, prize distribution.
- Violation reports involving you - a report has been opened or resolved. See the Rules Violations help article.
- LFP / LFT activity - someone replied to your listing, or a listing matching your filters was posted.
Routine actions you took yourself (you scheduled a scrim, you marked a result) do not generate notifications - no self-spam.
Discord Bot Integration
If you link your Discord account via Settings → Integrations → Discord, the HubMatch bot DMs you a copy of selected notifications. This is ideal if you live in Discord and do not check the site between sessions. The link is one-time: you approve the bot, and after that it can DM you until you unlink.
Discord DMs mirror your in-app notifications. Full details of the bot's flows are in the Discord Bot help article.
If Notifications Stop Working
Check that the Discord integration is still linked if you expect Discord DMs. Most "I never got a notification" reports trace back to an unlinked Discord account.
